GREENLAWN FUNERAL HOME [TRC Plan Review #2] BASE INFORMATION: • Existing condition sheet does not depict the correct lane configuration on Shipyard Blv. The existing condition does not have right turn lane. Please revise. • Show the skip lines pavement markings for the new turn lane. [NCDOT/City Standards] TECHNICAL STANDARDS – ACCESS (driveway, sidewalk, and sight distance): 1. The minimum two-lane driveway width is 23’. [Page 7-9 CofW Tech Stds]. Please revise eastern side driveway. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – PARKING: 2. Please show all the pavement marking showing the traffic flow for parking facility and eastern driveway leading to parking facility. 3. City’s 20’X70’ sight distance triangles are incorrectly implemented. Please revise. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – Barrier Free Design: 4. The proposed sidewalk adjacent to 90 degree parking spaces does not appear to meet ADA requirements. An allowance for a 2.5’ vehicle overhang must be considered. 4' of the sidewalk must remain clear for pedestrian use. [Chapter VII, Detail SD 15-13 and page 7-20 of CofWTSSM] 5. Please widen the sidewalk if required to fulfill the above requirement or provide the wheel stops. GREENLAWN FUNERAL HOME [TRC Plan Review #2] TECHNICAL STANDARDS – ACCESS (driveway, sidewalk, and sight distance): 1. The proposed 10’ Multi-Use Path ends on the side of the Eastern Driveway. If possible, extend the trail to both sides of the driveway. 2. The Landscape and Site Plans do not show the 20’X70 Sight Distance Triangles. Please revise. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – PARKING: 3. As previously stated, the site appears to have an Overhead cover at the Drop off/pick up areas at the front of the building. Please show the clearance for the overhead cover. 4. The Stop Signs are not located in close proximity to the Stop Bars. Please located the Stop Signs within 4’ of Stop Bar. 5. The handicap parking spaces appear to have a tactile mat at the top of the parking space. Tactile mats are typically used for wheel chair ramps and sidewalks that lead to crosswalks.
