OLEANDER COMMONS [TRC Plan Review #5] Oleander Dr is a state maintained street. Any improvements or installation of traffic signage and pavement markings within Oleander Dr ROW are subject to NCDOT approval. 1. Justify not been able to continue the sidewalk/crosswalk along the property line across the eastern driveway across cut-through island. Try to realign the crosswalk closer to the property so to minimize the staggered alignment. 2. Label the traffic control sign shown within the pork-chop island at the eastern driveway. Preferred would be ‘No left turn’ signage [MUTCD]. 3. Site plan shows pork-chop island at the right in/right out driveway off Oleander Dr. If the cut-through pork-chop island width is minimum of 6 ft. in length in the direction of pedestrian travel at the crosswalk, detectable warnings domes are needed to identify the pedestrian refuge area. 4. Detectable warning domes shall be installed at both the accessible ramps at the corner of the eastern driveway. Please let me know if you have any questions.

OLEANDER COMMONS [TRC Plan Review #5] NCDOT- 1. NCDOT comments for this driveway required significant modifications to the Traffic Island for the Right In Right Out driveway. These changes appear to change the location and shape Traffic Island, location of the crosswalk and design of the Right Turn lane for the Eastern Driveway. Please modify the plan to incorporate the NCDOT driveway changes. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – DRIVEWAY ACCESS (Major Thoroughfares): 2. The Right Turn lane for the Eastern Driveway, (Site Driveway #2) was modified by NCDOT comments, (traffic island at Driveway 2 has been moved and the right turn lane continues without interruption from Eastern Driveway to Western Driveway). Please revise the plans to show the NCDOT changes. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – ACCESS (driveway, sidewalk, and sight distance): 3. As previously commented. Please clarify whether Adirondack Way is a street. If Adirondack Way is a street, label the street as a Public or Private ROW. [7-9 CofW Tech Stds] 4. The proposed sidewalk is not along the ROW. Please reposition the sidewalk to the front of site driveway 2. 5. The Eastern Driveway is along a Major Thoroughfare, therefore the typical sight Distance Triangle is superseded by the AASTHO calculation for sight distance. The drivers will have to stop behind the stop bar and the AASHTO calculation will begin behind the stop bar and crosswalk. Please show the ISD for the intersection per AASHTO. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – PARKING: 6. As previously stated, the Tidal Creek Co-Op connection is not shown on this site plan. The connection is the primary connection for access for the two sites. Show a Stop Sign and Stop Bar for the connection to the Tidal Creek Co-op site.
