The tree identified as a hemlock is actually a deodar cedar. It is a non-pine conifer, so it is significant in size.

DOLLAR GENERAL PINE GROVE [TRC Plan Review #2] TECHNICAL STANDARDS – ACCESS (driveway, sidewalk, and sight distance): 1. Please revise to show the ‘STOP’ sign aligning stop bar at the driveway for this project. [MUTCD] TECHNICAL STANDARDS – Barrier Free Design: 2. Accessible parking signs shall be relocated to allow 2.5’ of vehicle overhang and avoid sign damage. Or install the wheel stops for handicap spaces. 3. Please note that if these signs are relocated, it must leave sidewalk clear. MISCELLANEOUS:  We will reserve comments on the parking lot, driveway geometry and other technical issues until a full construction drawing is submitted. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance as this development moves through the review process.

DOLLAR GENERAL PINE GROVE [TRC Plan Review #2]  Initial Review Note  All comments are based on adopted policy documents, specific City of Wilmington Land Development Code (CofW LDC) and City of Wilmington Technical Standards and Specifications Manual (CofWTSSM) requirements in effect at the time of this review. These have been noted after the comment as appropriate for your ease in further research. The City Engineer may administratively approve dimensional variance requests per LDC Sec. 18-348. If the Applicant feels further interpretation is in order, please contact Transportation Planning directly to discuss in additional detail. Please apply for all administrative variances in writing, an email is acceptable or this may be included on the plan set. Please see Sec. 18-348 of the Land Development Code for the information required to process a variance request. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – DRIVEWAY ACCESS (Major Thoroughfares): 1. Please modify the drawing to show revised design to accommodate delivery trucks. TECHNICAL STANDARDS – PARKING: 2. Please clarify drawing sheet C3, which shows the words “Flush Curb” adjacent to the 16’X16’Concrete Delivery Pad. If the loading zone has flush curbing with the sidewalk, please provide a barrier to prevent the delivery vehicle from backing onto the sidewalk or into the building. 3. Please provide a landscaping plan indicating the location of required street trees or show the addition of proposed landscaping to the site plan. 4. As previously requested, the store is adjacent to the Pine Grove Bicycle Lanes and proposed Greenville Loop Multi-use Trail. Please provide bicycle parking within this development. Add the proposed number of bicycle parking spaces to the site development data and graphically show the location of the bicycle parking spaces. [Sec.18-528 CofW LDC] MISCELLANEOUS:  Transportation Planning Staff will review the landscape plan once submitted for compliance with sight distance requirements.
