· Please show the location of all existing trees proposed for preservation or shading on the project site, incorporate their locations on all the applicable landscape plan sheets;
· Please provide the following information for the overall project site:

o Interior landscaping calculations-20% canopy coverage required for the parking facility to include parking areas, loading spaces, driveways and internal drive aisles. Canopy coverage based on the following criteria set forth in Section 18-381(j):
§ For purposes of determining if the landscape plan meets the shading requirements of this section, each canopy tree of the type described in this section shall be presumed to shade a circular area of seven hundred and seven (707) square feet (based on having a canopy radius of fifteen (15) feet with the trunk of the tree as the center). When smaller shade trees are planted, each tree shall be presumed to shade a circular area of three hundred and fourteen (314) square feet (based on having a canopy radius of ten (10) feet). Perimeter trees shall be given credit for that portion of the area of the canopy that overlays the parking area. Using this standard, twenty (20) percent of the parking facility area must have canopy coverage. For existing trees, credit shall be given for the actual canopy overhanging the parking facility. The trees counted toward meeting the shading requirement shall be indicated and calculations shall be shown on the landscape plan.
o Foundation planting calculations for each building on the site in accordance with Section 18-490;
· Please add the following notes to the plan:
o “No obstructions shall be permitted in the space between thirty (30) inches and ten (10) feet above ground level within the area of the triangular sight distance.”
o If irrigation is to be provided on the site, please add a note that all “A rain/freeze sensor shall be installed as part of any irrigation system used on the site.”
o All planted and retained living material required to meet the provisions of the city of Wilmington Land Development Code, shall be perpetually protected and maintained to professionally accepted standards by joint and several responsibility of the owner, occupant, tenant, and respective agents of the property on which the material is located.”
· If the project engineer makes any revisions to the plan impacting the landscape plan, please be certain to revise the landscape plan accordingly.
· Please delineate the sight distance triangle at the intersection of all streets;
· Please list all trees on the Planting Legends by caliper inches for canopy trees and heights for understory trees;
· Please list all shrubs on the Planting Legends by heights;

· Please provide information on the height of the entrance gate;
· Please provide information on the height of the wall;
· Please provide information on the dimensions of the proposed sign;
· Please keep in mind that within front yard, fences and walls cannot exceed 4 feet;
· Please keep in mind that the sign cannot exceed a total of 35 square feet;
· A separate sign permit issued by the zoning section will be required for the entrance sign;

· Planting Legend
o The symbol for the 3” cal Live Oak appears to conflict with the symbol used on the plan;
o I counted 9 vs. 10 East Palatka Holly trees;
o Please make certain that all symbology utilized on the plan matches that provided on the Planting Legend;

o Are the 2 proposed 5”cal Live Oaks to be located in front of Building #5?
